DANCE OF THE LONDONG AGE OF TRADITIONAL FROM WEST SULAWESI












Londong Fur Dance is usually performed by male dancers. For the number of dancers usually consists of 5 or more people. The dancers dance in battle and carry various weapons as dancing equipment. The dancing equipment consists of, bamboo trumpets, swords, and spears. In addition, one of the dancers also brought a human head doll.
           
As said earlier, this dance used to be done to celebrate the success they get such as the victory of war or those who are from illness. For the people there, Bond Londong dance is interpreted as an expression of happiness and their gratitude. In addition Londong Bulu Dance is now also interpreted as a tribute to the ancestors.

In the Bulu Londong Dance show begins by sounding bamboo horns by the dancers, after which they enter the arena. After entering the arena, then the dancers dance with their distinctive movements while accompanied by accompaniment music. For movements in this dance is more dominated movement of hand movements to play weapons. On the right hand plays the sword and the left hand plays the spear.
