other tribes in Indonesia. Culture of this tribe is very identical with the
supernatural world. In fact, until now they still maintain its relationship
with the unseen world in running adatnya.
Some of them, there are very unique, namely
the ceremony of Tariu ceremony, ceremony of Manajah Antang, and Tiwah ceremony.
The three customs of Dayak tribe are closely related to the supernatural world,
namely by calling the spirits of their ancestors for various interests for his
tribe. Thus, the three ceremonies became a very sacred activity. Here is a
discussion of the three Dayak Day ceremonies.
1. Ceremonial Tariu This ceremony is performed by a Dayak Commander of the Dayak tribe to know when the right time to start the war, by calling the spirits of the ancestors. Usually Tariu ceremony is done before the commander sent a "red bowl" as a sign of the start of a war. The "red bowl" will be delivered to the villages if the commander feels his tribe is being threatened or in grave danger. In the ritual, the spirit of the ancestors will enter the body of the commander, and will give him strength. The troops who heard the incantations recited in the ceremony will also be possessed and gained the same strength. With such power, they will fight furiously, making it more powerful. Meanwhile, if people whose souls are unstable also hear it, it will immediately fall ill or become insane. According to the story of the Dayak people, so far "red bowl" itself has been circulated several times. For the first, the "red bowl" came out during the Japanese colonial era, where the Dayak tribe once fought with the Sakura State soldiers. Later, the "red bowl" was also sent when they were going to fight with the Chinese to expel him from the Dayak areas in 1967. 2. Ceremony of Manajah Antang In the face of war, usually Dayak tribe will also perform the ceremony of Manajah Antang. Through this ceremony, they will seek clues about the existence of the enemy that has been hard to find. In this ceremony, they also summon the spirits of the ancestors through the Antang bird, which will then tell where the enemy is. In addition, the ceremony of Manajah Antang can also be used to look for other clues. 3. Tiwah Ceremony The event of customs Dayak tribe this one is a ceremony to deliver the bones of people who have died. In this Tiwah ceremony, there will be many rituals, dances, and sounds from traditional Dayak musical instruments. In the ritual, they will convey the intention to usher the dead man's bones to the spirits of the ancestors, in order to be preserved. Therefore, the Tiwah ceremony is also as sacred as the two ceremonies discussed earlier. After they convey the desire to the spirits of the ancestors, then the bones of the dead are brought and placed into place, which is a small house made specifically for the dead, or called Sandung. During this ceremony, traditional musical instruments will continue to be played with solemnity
