7 Philosophy (Unique) Manado People You Do not Need To Impersonate

7 Philosophy (Unique) Manado People You Do not Need
To Impersonate

1.     Baku Cungkel
Cungkel, is a term to call the 'fruit picking' activity using a pole, as it is done on papaya (the Indonesian term is what?)? Kungkel is an effort done so that the fruit above can fall.
Baku cungkel is an effort made Manado people when he saw his fellow has been successful. When his neighbor is up. Rudimentary clamp is an attempt to bring down the other side above. Raw cungkel is an attempt so that the above can fall. Now, Baku Cungkel's philosophy is starting to erode.
But that does not mean it is gone. There are still many Manado people who are 'not willing' to see each other succeed. Many attempts were made to fall into one another. By fixing it.
2.     Baku Abis Jo
This expression is commonly spoken of the hostile parties or when there is a fight between villages. Baku abis jo literally means: let's kill each other. Or with another sentence: If we run out, you are also exhausted. Or, we may be exhausted. But you too must be finished.
Manado people are known as very pleasant friends. Friendly, open, cheap smile and joking. But eiittss, do not ever hurt Manado people. If hurt, Manado people will fight. Not just a fight. But it will fight to the end. Abis kalu abis.
Now, the philosophy of Baku abis jo is directed to the positive. For example a sports match. If there is a volleyball match, or basketball, the expression 'raw abis jo' is usually spoken by the audience. To encourage the parties to compete. So they fight to the end
3.     I Yayat U Santi
I Yayat U Santi is the official slogan of Minahasa District embedded in the symbol of the Minahasa area, just like Bhinneka Tunggal Ika on the symbol of Garuda. The literal meaning is: Raise your sword. I yayat u santi is the usual expression pronounced Teterusan (ancient warlord) when about to fight. Usually this expression is greeted by the waraney (ancient Minahasa warriors) with kumukuk, shriek uhuuhuuu. Now, that phrase is still often spoken in Minahasa, especially since there are still many enemies to be faced. That is ignorance, laziness and arrogance
4.     Baku Beking Pande
This philosophy was initially popular only among academics. Later, this phrase is also popular
in the community. Ari literally is: mutually clever. Ie the effort to share knowledge so that others
become more intelligent. The standard method of pande's backing is, if A is good at
cooking and B is good at writing, then A taught cooking skill to the B, and vice
versa B teaches writing technique to A. The end result is A so smart to cook and
write, and the B so smart writing and cooking. Both parties become smarter.
5.     Si Tou Timou Tumou Tou
This philosophy was popularized by Dr. Sam Ratulangi, the national hero as well as the first
governor of Sulawesi. The literal meaning is: Humans become human beings to humanize other
human beings. Or it could be: Man lives to live others. This philosophy teaches the importance
of humanizing others. That life is not only for oneself but also for others. In Manado, this
philosophy is sometimes confused with: Si Tou Timou Tumongko Tou. Humans become Humans to prey on other human beings
6.     Torang Samua Basudara

This philosophy was popularized EE Mangindaan when he served as Governor of North Sulawesi (now Mangindaan became minister in United Indonesia Cabinet). The literal meaning is: We Are All Brothers. This philosophy emphasizes that all citizens of Manado (or North Sulawesi) are brothers. No matter what ethnicity, what economic background, what religion, all is essentially a brother. It is this philosophy that among others is a fortress that Manado has now become one of the areas with very low horizontal conflict level. This philosophy that made provocative attempts such as church throwing, bombing of the Synod GMIM office or throwing the mosque did not widen. This philosophy is pervaded by society and practiced in everyday life. Because fellow brothers will keep each other. Your brothers will remind each other. Your brothers will protect each other. Your brothers will not hurt each other. Therefore, in Manado, it is not a remarkable sight if you see teenage girls dressed in giggling giggling with their teenage girls wearing a cross necklace. In Manado, all the different beliefs are brothers. Although quite popular, there are only parties who try menylesetkan this philosophy. By mentioning: Torang Samua Basudara Tiri.
