Weaving in Toraja commonly known as Ma 'badong. Toraja residents usually use Gonggon, a traditional loom from Toraja. Fabrics that usually use red, blue, black, white, and yellow are using materials and dyes derived from natural materials that exist around them. The quality of fabric produced is more durable and environmentally friendly.

Toraja weav is not only a fashion motive for local people, but also plays an important role in various traditional ceremonies. In addition, this weaving also serves as a symbol of prosperity and glory for its owners. In the old days only people who like nobles are able to have it, but now anyone can have it and wear it.
Toraja fabric is usually patterned in triangular plane and has a full-arrow pattern arranged alternately with zigzag lines forming a dramatic geometric pattern. There are also hook and sekon patterns that are stylized from the image of the human body. The motifs of Toraja weav usually result from imitating carvings in Tongkonan, Toraja custom house, many also inspired by traditional ceremonies and life around them.
Ma'badong a dance ceremony originally from Toraja, South Sulawesi. Ma'badong dance is held at a death ceremony conducted in groups. The dancers (pa'badong) form a circle and hold hands together and generally they are dressed in black. Ma'badong is not just a dance, but an activity of singing badong with a distinctive gesture. The poems that are in question are called kadong-badong (the chant for the deceased). The contents of the verse are none other than the exaltation of the dead. In it is told the origin of the heavens, childhood, charity and goodness, and all matters concerning him which is considered praiseworthy. In addition, it also contains the hope that the dead will with all his good will bless those who are still alive.
