Batak culture Heaven


Splash The old time when the Customs still stomp in Batak land cause we can't forget that time just like Toba Lake will never receding

Horas ! Feel the atmosphere of Batak Culture, hugging you on a paradise island , Samosir which located in Pussuk buhit where the Bataknese comes from.

this time we will tell you how does it feel to become Bataknese while wearing our Ulos and say Horas! track the trace of our history and culture in the biggest island in Toba Lake , Samosir

1. Tomok



if you ever visited Toba Lake through Fery port in Parapat, we're totally sure that you've been in tomok before. it's the biggest Market in Samosir island, Tomok is well known because of distance between this place with Parapat isn't too far, it's just an 2 hour trip. In here you can find many Batak souvenir, Batak culture you can watch in this place is Sigale - gale , it's a wooden doll wearing Ulos, and then the music of Batak will Accompany while Sigale - gale's dancing , this show prove how creative Batak people are.

2. Simanido Museum


Simanido , Simanido is well known as the heaven of Batak culture, it is located right at the edge of Toba Lake and Batak atmosphere in this village (museum) makes us wanna be one of Halak kita (this how Batak people call each other) there's big museum in this village named Simanido museum which keep all historical objects from time to time. Batak sculpture or usually known as Goga decorates every side of the building plus Sigale - gale doll and also Cultural ceremony that usually held when there are visitors coming.

3. Siallagan village


Siallagan , A culture village that usually visited by tourist especially from foreign countries. one thing that Siallgan has which attract so many tourist to come is Head-cutting ceremony for those who disobey the Value  or Rules in this village

4. Hutatinggi



above Samosir mountain there's a village called Hutatinggi. Parmalim Batak traditional religion which made and taught by Sisimangaraja still can be found in this village. Parmalim is affected by Kristen and Islam.

5. Tugu


Tugu is a place to keep Bones for Batak people that already dead. Tugu is a big building with interesting architecture. Before saving the bones in to Tugu a ceremony called Mangkohall holi must be held. almost every Batak ethnicity such as Toba, Karo, Pakpak etc still held this tradition until now
